Rome2rio is on the lookout for an experienced and talented Digital Content Editor to join our Melbourne team. This newly created hands-on role will be responsible for coordinating and executing a wide range of travel focused content initiatives that truly engage our audience across all channels. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, independent self-starter who is motivated and passionate about digital content.
Based in Melbourne, the role offers agreed flexible office hours over a 5 day week and is suitable for a candidate with family responsibilities. What you’ll be doing
- Producing engaging online travel content in a range of digital media formats
- Collaborating with external editors and top travel writers on initiatives such as our new Transport Guides
- Overseeing the editorial schedule and budget
- Uploading, fact checking and sub-editing – this includes commissioned content, press releases, our Rome2rio Blog, Lab pages and Help Centre
- Developing a translation process for relevant editorial content
- Using metrics, user feedback and community-generated contributions to refresh existing and generate new content
- Ensuring content is optimised for SEO to increase traffic and readership
- Owning and maintaining the Rome2rio editorial style guide
- Working collaboratively with the Content, UI and Engineering teams to ensure the best possible user experience for our Rome2rio audience
Who we are looking for
You are a passionate content creator with a strong editorial background who thrives on creating engaging digital content. It is important you understand the motivations and challenges of travel so you can empathise with our users needs in order to produce content that is compelling, useful and answers travellers questions while maintaining a high editorial standard of journalism. Your detailed and collaborative work approach ensures you are not afraid to check facts and raise queries, thereby ensuring accuracy and trust.
You must be based in Melbourne so you can collaborate directly with the team. To be considered for this role you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or have full Australian working rights.

PAY AND PERKS
Expected pay is between $70,000 and $75,000 per annum pro rata plus superannuation, depending on your skills, experience, and agreed hours.
