As growth continues, new roles at Rome2Rio

Published April 24, 2017

Rome2Rio is pleased to announce some changes in its executive team. Co-founder Michael Cameron is stepping into the CEO role, taking over the reins from Rod Cuthbert, who becomes Executive Chairman. Co-founder Bernie Tschirren becomes Chief Architect, and Kirsteene Phelan has been promoted to the executive team as COO. Operationally, these changes reflect the way we’ve been running the business, but the new titles provide greater clarity on who does what to external parties.

The changes also position the company for rapid expansion. To support continued traffic and revenue growth, we recently added 11 new staff to our Melbourne-based team, and we’ve begun work on the move to a 1300 sqm office space in Richmond that will house our growth to 140 staff. While we continue to improve our core functionality — the best multi-modal search engine in the market — we’re also busy enhancing Rome2Rio with booking capabilities for numerous train, bus, ferry and transfer operators.

The changes also allow us to create the role of Chief Technology Officer, and we are now accepting applications for this important position.
